Over 120 applications from community groups have been received for the TAK£500+ Participatory Budget Fund – and now, the power is in your hands!
Communities from right across every corner of the borough have put forward ideas they think will have a positive impact on their area – and are in the running to receive up to £1000 to fund their project!
So what happens now?
There are three exciting Market Stall events taking place, where each applicant will showcase their idea and how it can benefit their community. All you (the public) have to do, is come along to an event, have a look at all the different ideas and vote for your favourites!
These events will be a fun day for all the family to enjoy, with lots of great activities for the children, spot prizes, and teas and coffees on hand while you check out all of the amazing community ideas!
“We are absolutely delighted to have received over 120 applications this year for the Tak£500+ Project – with so many different ideas that will bring a lot of positivity and benefits to communities across our borough,” commented the Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Councillor Paul Greenfield.
“The beauty of TAK£500+ is that this project is all led by you, the local residents! It is your ideas that have been put forward and it will be your decision which projects will receive the funding and go ahead! So make sure you grab the family and head down to the fabulous Market Stall events, have a look at all the incredible projects being put forward, and get voting!”
The events will take place as follows:
- Saturday 14th January 2023 10.30am – 3.30pm: Armagh City Hotel
- Saturday 21st January2023 10.30am – 3.30pm: Banbridge Leisure Centre
- Saturday 28th January 2023 10.30am – 3.30pm: Craigavon Civic Centre
The Tak£500+ Project has been brought to life once again thanks to a variety of community planning partners pooling their resources – and then giving local communities the final say on how these funds should be used.
These partners include Public Health Agency, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Sport NI, Southern Health & Social Care Trust, NI Housing Executive, PCSP, Clanmil Housing, Triangle Housing and Ark Housing.
