‘Summer in the City’ comes to Armagh

Armagh City Centre will host free cultural pop-up events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

A range of free pop-up events and activities will take place on Saturdays in July, August and September as part of the ‘Summer in the City’ programme organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

This Saturday 29th July from 12-4pm participants can enjoy a variety of fun filled activities with an ‘Express Yourself’ theme. Come along to action packed afternoon of visual art, spoken work and live music. Try out your street art skills with some drop-in art sessions, listen to some musical storytelling, children’s storytelling, poetry and even give our ‘Street Countdown’ a go.

Head to Market Square for live music by Theo Sinton and Stevie C to keep you entertained, and some musical storytelling for all ages or test your knowledge with a game of Street Countdown.

Watch live street art in McCrums Court come to life or express yourself with an art workshop.

The ‘Summer in the City’ programme presents a variety of themed events to enjoy over the next 7 weeks and we invite you to experience the free cultural, creative and wellbeing events on offer:

  • Saturday 5th August – Headspace
  • Saturday 12th August – The Sound of Music
  • Saturday 19th August – This is How Legends are Made
  • Saturday 26th August – The World on a String
  • Saturday 2nd September – Under The Sea
  • Saturday 9th September – Food Glorious Food
