The popular ‘Keep Safe, Keep Well’ series finished on a high earlier this month – with more than 130 residents attending the final event at the Belmont Hotel to learn more about looking after their personal safety and wellbeing.
Organised by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Policing and Community Safety Partnership (ABC PCSP), the event gave attendees the opportunity to hear about support available to them, volunteering opportunities, fire safety, road safety, crime prevention and scams.
Participants were also able to take part in a ‘five steps to wellbeing’ session before being treated to an amusing sketch, addressing road safety in an engaging and creative way!
Gilbert Lee, Chair of ABC PCSP.
“As we get older and our family members get older, it is important to know what services are available to us and to understand how to access them, which is why the ‘Keep Safe Keep Well’ series of events are so worthwhile.
“Bringing together over 300 people from across Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, this year’s events have provided a unique opportunity for attendees to connect, chat and hear guidance and advice from array of organisations, service providers and guest speakers.”
The event also featured information stands on key service areas that affect older people and speakers from key public and voluntary sector organising offering vital advice for the over 60s.
