Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has today announced extended opening hours for Gosford Forest Park and Clare Glen taking effect from Friday 26 February 2021, which will allow the public even more time to enjoy the natural beauty of the borough.
With a recent increase of visitors to the ever-popular parks, mainly due to brighter and better weather, the council has acted swiftly to address issues with parking and effectively manage the high volume of people visiting the local beauty spots.
The additional opening hours that will take effect from Friday 26 February are:
Gosford Forest Park
Monday to Sunday: 8.00am to 7.00pm
Clare Glen
Friday to Sunday: 9.00am to 5.30pm
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Kevin Savage, said:
“I very much welcome the decision to extend the opening hours for both Gosford and Clare Glen, two of our boroughs most beautiful natural assets. We anticipate higher visitor numbers as the evenings get brighter and the weather improves and the additional opening times will help manage the increase in numbers safely and effectively. I would ask everyone to enjoy our parks and opening spaces but please remember to follow the current Covid guidelines and ensure social distancing.
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank all our council staff who are working extremely hard to manage the increased demand for people visiting our parks right across our borough, helping to make the experience a safe and pleasant one.”
