Heritage Skills Open Day Celebrates Traditional skills at Tannaghmore Gardens

Lurgan Townscape Heritage, an initiative supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council are hosting a Heritage Skills Open Day on Saturday 16th March. A vibrant celebration of craftsmanship, tradition, and community. This free event is open to the public and celebrates people keeping our ancient crafts alive through engaging demonstrations, hands-on activities, and insightful talks.

The event will take place on Saturday 16th March, from11am to 4pm at the Barn Museum, Tannaghmore Gardens. Parking is available on site.

The family friendly event will include a number of traditional demonstrations of skills that have been passed down through generations, including copper smithing, butter making, weaving and much more.

The event has been made possible thanks to funding from Department for Communities, The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

Lurgan Townscape Heritage is a heritage led five-year programme which seeks to repair, refurbish, and restore up to 25 historic buildings that contribute to the character of Lurgan town. The project also delivers community-based activities and educational programmes to raise awareness and promote Lurgan’s rich history and heritage. By improving both the town’s physical appearance and increasing civic pride, Lurgan Townscape Heritage will breathe new life into the town enhancing it as an attractive place to live, shop, work and visit.
