A picture can paint a thousand words! We’re inviting you to give your best shot at capturing NI’s largest and most beautiful urban park, and Ireland’s second largest urban park – Lurgan Park – in all its glory!
Amateur photographers throughout the borough are once again being asked to put their skills to the test to capture photos of Lurgan Park, with the winning photos being included in the park’s 2024 calendar.
With over 250 acres of open space including an expansive lake, overlooked by Brownlow House; mature woodlands, walking trails and the majestic Coalbrookdale Fountain, budding photographers are spoiled for choice.
A maximum of five photos are allowed per entry, and photographers are asked to share their best photos of the park in one of following categories (preferably excluding any people or children):
- Wildlife
- Park life
- Landscape
Closing date for entries is Friday 29 September at noon. The competition is for amateur photographers only. Photos should be of high resolution, landscape and 8×6 size. All entries must be emailed to and include the date the photo was taken, the name of the entrant and address. By emailing photographs, you are providing confirmation that you are happy for your photo to appear in the calendar if it is shortlisted.
Calendars will go on sale in November, with proceeds going to the Lord Mayor’s charity. More information to follow in the coming weeks.
