Free training courses for community organisations

Our borough has a rich community life with dedicated organisations who work hard to deliver for individuals on a daily basis.

To support this incredible work, the Community Development Department within Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council are delighted to introduce a calendar of training to help encourage, protect and enhance these organisations – and it is all free!

Courses include safeguarding for children and adults, accredited emergency first aid training, mental health first aid, food hygiene and mental health and wellbeing awareness – and will be held at different venues throughout the borough, as well as on zoom.

These courses are for leaders of community groups and each course can accept a maximum of two people per organisation.

“We are delighted to be able to offer such a variety of courses to our community organisations, to give them further skills and confidence that will help support the fantastic work they do on a daily basis,” commented the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Alderman Margaret Tinsley.

“We are committed to helping our community organisations deliver the best services possible for their groups and helping them to share good practice and engagement with each other. These training courses offer a wealth of information and knowledge that can be used to help deliver stronger communities.”

Places on the courses are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

This initiative is supported through The Executive Office District Council Good Relations Programme.
