Free fun for all during Love Parks Week 2021

To celebrate Love Parks Week, which this year runs from 23 July – 1 August, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council will be hosting a series of free fun activities with something to suit all ages, all set within our beautiful and welcoming parks.

On Monday 26 July from 10am – 12pm, children aged 4 – 8yrs can join our Bushcraft team in Portadown People’s Park for a taste of adventure and to learn the skills required to enjoy the great outdoors. Please note children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Advance booking required.

Also on Monday 26 July, Brownstown Park, Portadown is the venue for an adults only Chi Me session from 2 – 3pm. Chi Me is a series of Tai Chi influenced exercises that can aid muscular strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility and relaxation, creating a wonderful sense of mental and emotional wellbeing and can help improve quality of life. The session is for adults only and advance booking is required.

On Tuesday 27 July, the Bushcraft team pay a visit to Lord Lurgan Memorial Park from 10am – 12pm for another session of outdoor adventure for 4 – 8 year olds. Please note children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Advance booking required.

Tuesday 27 July also sees a further Chi Me session taking place in Loughbrickland Park from 2pm – 3pm, this ideal exercise in the great outdoors is a wonderful way to boost your mental wellbeing. The session is for adults only and advance booking is required.

On Wednesday 28 July, we will be hosting Recycling Information Sessions in Solitude Park, Banbridge from 10 am – 12 pm and Edenvilla Park, Portadown from 2 pm – 4 pm. Come along to find out fun facts and interesting Information on all things bins. recycling, food waste and reducing non-recyclable waste. All welcome and booking not required.

The Palace Demesne Public Park, Armagh is the venue on Thursday 29 July from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm for a marvellous Multi Sport session offering a packed programme of sports activities led by our council coaches for children aged 6 – 12 years. Advance booking required.

Also taking place in the Palace Demesne on Thursday 29 July from 10am – 11am is another chance to enjoy our relaxing Chi Me sessions for adults. Advance booking required.

Dromore Town Park on Friday 30 July from 10am – 12pm offers another chance for children aged 6 – 12 years to let off some steam with our Multi Sports activity sessions. Advance booking required.

To round off our events for Love Parks Week we will be hosting a RSPB Information Session on Friday 30 July in Tannaghmore Gardens, Craigavon from 12pm – 5pm. Come along and discover out how you can ‘Give Nature a Home’, find out about the fabulous environmental work undertaken by the RSPB and enjoy our wonderful Wild Challenge for children.
