Budding architects across the borough can put their creative skills to the test this Saturday (30 October), at an exciting kids model-making workshop!

Organised by the Lurgan Townscape Heritage Scheme, the ‘Little Architect’ workshop will be held in Lurgan’s majestic Brownlow House and will take place from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Aimed at kids aged 8-12yrs, the workshop will begin with a short tour of Brownlow House by manager David Martin, during which children will find out about the unique history of the building and why it is known as calendar house. Following the tour, participants will then take part in a hands-on workshop in which they will be challenged to build their own house – inspired by Brownlow House – using recycled materials all under the guidance of innovative artist Hazel Boland!.

This is the first in a number model-making workshops taking place throughout October to December.

This workshop is free and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Places are limited. To book a place please e-mail David Weir at:

This programme is supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and The National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Lurgan Townscape Heritage scheme, which has been made possible thanks to National Lottery players.

This event is just one of many activities taking place as part of the Lurgan TH scheme; a heritage-led regeneration initiative which aims to repair, restore and regenerate the built heritage of the Lurgan town centre, while promoting the history and heritage of the town through an events and activities programme.
