Edenvilla Park is to receive an investment of £100,000 to upgrade the children’s play park – with work due to begin on Monday 8th February.

The Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council owned park has been loved by children for years and this refurbishment will see a number of brand new and exciting additions for all to enjoy.

To accommodate the works, the park will close on Monday 8th February for approximately 16 weeks. Once re-opened, there will be toddler and junior swings, an inclusive basket swing, parent and toddler swing and harness swing, inclusive roundabout, play panels and multi-play climbing units.

A lovely range of seating has also been added so parents and guardians can come along and share in the children’s play experiences.

This park will be suitable for children up to the age of 14.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Councillor Kevin Savage, commented:

“I am delighted to see the exciting plans for the new play park in Edenvilla and for work to get underway next week – another fantastic investment in fixed play within our borough. This play park has always been popular with the local community and the wide range of new equipment will benefit all ages up to 14 years. The new inclusive apparatus will also be a very welcome addition to ensure children of all needs can come to the park and enjoy themselves.”

The £100,000 investment is part of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s £4.75m Play Strategy 2018-2026. The eight-year strategy puts ABC Council at the forefront of health, recreation and leisure in Northern Ireland, actively championing play to help improve understanding of its critical importance to children and young people.
