Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Sorchá McGeown hosted a Civic Reception recently for local Laurelvale man Chris Stewart, who had multiple success at the UK Para Badminton Championships in Glasgow!
Chris picked up gold at the WH1 Men’s Singles and two silver medals competing alongside Michael Smith from Belfast in the Men’s Doubles and alongside Fiona Christie from Scotland in the Mixed Doubles. Northern Ireland team members won five gold and five silver medals at the Championship. Included are Alderman Paul Berry and Councillor Tim McClelland.
