Last Friday, Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Sorchá McGeown welcomed members of St Peter’s Athletic Club, Lurgan for a Civic Reception at Craigavon Civic & Conference Centre in recognition of their fantastic successes this season.
The Deputy Lord Mayor congratulated the club on their recent achievements, which included:
- 2022-2023 Cross County Champions.
- 2023 Senior Championship Winners.
- ABC Council Club of the Year.
- Ladies team came in first place in the Omagh half marathon and are current holders of the Carmen 1 mile relay event.
- Men’s cross-country team came 5th in this year’s championship.
- Individual successes from Gillian McCrory who came 2nd in the Belfast Marathon and Eimear Nichol who won the Omagh Half Marathon.
