Armagh celebrates it’s Georgian past!

We captured some of the wonderful atmosphere from our annual Georgian Festival, celebrating a jammed packed weekend of activities and fun for everyone. One of the largest outdoor festivals across the isle of Ireland, it has welcomed thousands of new and regular visitors since it was first established in 2004.

Take a step back in time to experience the Georgian culture from the 18th century, as we strolled among the many artisan craft and food stalls on the Mall and throughout the busy City Centre.

We watched Georgian characters promenading through the streets, heard the clip-clop of horses’ hooves along the Mall, listened to musicians playing throughout the streets, and smelled the roasting chestnuts and mulled spices. While crowds gathered to watch the lights dance across the Market House for the eagerly awaited “Fairytale of Armagh” Georgian Light Show.

The whole City came alive with a 4-day festival of events designed to start the festive celebrations while showcasing its unique Georgian architecture and historic landmarks.
