An Age Friendly focus group were invited to have their say on the future direction of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) Borough Council on a range of social and economic issues.

ABC Community Planning Strategic Partnership is currently conducting a mid-point review of Connected: A Community Plan for ABC 2017-2030, to ensure that the plan still aligns with the borough’s aspirations, considering significant social, economic and environmental changes since its development.

Last week at the Palace Demesne in Armagh, the Age Friendly focus group (people aged 50 plus) were given a presentation on the aims of the plan which will serve as the main framework for the borough, to enhance social, economic and environmental well-being while connecting local government community plans with the new Programme for Government as a model for funding and investment.

They also expressed their views on the provision for our rapidly increasing ageing population, within the Community Plan.
