As a result of the increase of serious road traffic collisions across Northern Ireland, the Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Road Safety Committee will be hosting a support event for those affected by such incidents on Tuesday 4 June at 7.30pm in Banbridge Old Town Hall.
The event aims to offer support for anyone who has been bereaved or seriously injured by a road traffic accident either recently or in the past.
Speaking ahead of the event, Clive Bowles, Chairperson of the Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Road Safety Committee said; “After a serious road traffic collision, survivors and those indirectly affected can be left dealing with bereavement, trauma, grief, and loss as well as mental health issues, isolation, and loneliness. Each person’s experience is individual and personal, but it can help to talk to others who are dealing with a similar experience and hopefully assist in the healing process”.
The event will also feature several speakers including Chief Inspector Graham Dodds, PSNI Roads Policing, David Jackson, Chairperson Road Safe NI and Monica Heaney, Co-Ordinator the Road Ahead Support Group. They will highlight the support available to anyone affected by these tragic incidents and advise how we can prevent further loss and injury on our roads.
