Get fit and feel better with Couch to 5K

Starting a new running habit doesn’t have to be hard — all it takes is a comfortable pair of shoes and a willingness to move a little or a lot, all at your own pace. If you’re ready, let’s go!

Delivered by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Couch to 5K is an eight-week programme designed to make it a little easier for people of all ages and fitness levels to get started, get inspired and stay on track. The programme starts with a combination of walking and running to gradually develop fitness and stamina and work towards the end goal of completing a 5K run.

For £32 participants will receive two coached sessions from our qualified instructors each week, a t-shirt, and a medal upon completion of the 5K run! There is also the option to do Couch to 5K your way, with our virtual programme, which encourages you to train around your own schedule, with access to weekly training plans, tips and inspirational messages from our Couch to 5K team!

Details for the Couch to 5K starting September are:

  • The Mall, Armagh: starts 16 September, every Monday & Wednesday at 6.30pm.
  • Solitude Park, Banbridge: starts 16 September, every Monday & Wednesday at 6.30pm.
  • Portadown Peoples Park: starts 17 September, every Tuesday & Thursday at 6.30pm.
