Dogs Trust pop-up information day will be held on Friday 23 August from 1pm to 3pm at Lurgan Park (at Windsor Avenue entrance).

Looking after and learning more about our wonderful four-legged friends, will be the focus of a pop-up information event being held by Dogs Trust at Lurgan Park on Friday 23 August.

The animal charity wants to reach out to local dog owners to offer guidance and support. Many owners, even those experienced with dogs, can struggle to manage their pets, and the team from Dogs Trust will be on hand to provide advice and some simple steps to help improve dog behaviour and welfare, to make both pets and owners lives a little easier.

As well as giving out freebies such as poo bags and keyrings, Dogs Trust will be collecting insights from the public about problems for animal welfare they see in the local community which will help the charity understand the concerns in the area and work to combat these in the future.

The pop-up information day at Lurgan Park is a great opportunity for the public to come along and find out more about their dogs and express their own views.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) Borough Council are looking forward to welcoming Dogs Trust to the park and are urging local dog owners to avail of this information event.

Council staff will be on hand to promote the Green Dog Walker Scheme. Those who sign up to the scheme receive a doggie welcome pack which contains the Green Dog Walkers® armband, dog bone shaped bag dispenser, doggie bags and clip-on hand sanitiser. Staff will also provide guidance on the legal requirement to licence your dog and explain how important it is to microchip your dog which can be vital in reuniting lost pets and ensuring the welfare of dogs.
