The world champion sheepdog and handler has been revealed after four-days of stiff competition from 240 participants at Gill Hall Estate in Dromore.

Norway native Petter Landfald and his dog Max celebrated the big win and were crowned World champions.

They went head-to-head with 16 of the world’s best sheepdogs and handlers during three days of qualifiers before emerging victorious on Saturday.

Tyler McKinlay (17) from Lanark in Scotland and her dog, Heatherstane Squiggle, were also named Young Handler World Champion at the event.

This is the first year that the trials have had an all-female final in the junior competition.

Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Alderman Margaret Tinsley said,

“What a wonderful four-days it has been, huge congratulations to Petter and Tyler on becoming World Champions – this really is a remarkable achievement and I’m absolutely delighted for you both.

“Sincere thanks to the organisers on a hugely successful event. To all the competitors who have visited our borough over the past week, I hope everyone has enjoyed our rural countryside and this fabulous location at Gill Hall Estate. I wish all our international visitors a safe journey home and hope you will come back again to visit our beautiful borough.”
