A round of applause please for the thousands of local school children that got into the festive spirit and took part in the Daily Mile Santa Run earlier this month!

Taking place on Friday 02 December, the virtual mass participation event saw an amazing 60 primary schools and early years settings from across the borough don their most festive attire while running, jogging, or pushing for fifteen minutes to help raise awareness of children’s mental health and wellbeing.

To inspire schools to take part, we launched a photography competition in November, which called on local schools to submit photos of their classes taking part in the festive event – for the chance to win a visit from local Tokyo 2020 Olympian Russell White.

Picked at random, Tandragee Primary School were selected as overall winners of the competition. Russell will meet with pupils and staff at the school, share his personal experiences in sport including his Olympic experience and will take part in the Daily Mile with all!

Congratulations to all those that took part from Tandragee Primary School.

Once registered through the Daily Mile Foundation, schools will receive all the support and resources needed to implement and sustain the initiative, as well as receiving localised assistance from ABC Council and SHSC Trust.

The Daily Mile is organised by the Daily Mile Foundation in partnership with the Daily Mile Network NI.
