Planning to enter your town or village in next year’s Translink Ulster in Bloom competition? Get ready to bring the flower power to your area and apply now with the help of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough (ABC) Council.
Supporting successful applications that demonstrate a real interest and commitment to the improvement of their area, ABC Council will work closely with local community groups to brighten up their towns and villages ahead of the 2022 Ulster in Bloom competition.
From helping supply your community group with everything from geraniums, begonias, marigolds to surfinias and fuchsias, ABC Council will help with providing flowers for trailing, hanging baskets and tubs – guaranteed to bring a burst of colour to your area.
Encouraging local community groups to apply, Lord Mayor Alderman Glenn Barr said:
“Working alongside borough residents, council is committed to supporting local community groups create a beautiful and better environment for everyone to enjoy and take pride in. I would encourage any local group who is thinking about entering next year’s competition to get in touch and apply today.”
Not only helping harness the interest, care and attention of local residents for their area, this collaborative scheme also supports council initiatives and its commitment to keep the borough looking beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
What’s more, colourful plant and floral displays across the borough can help encourage the creation of new visitors and residents to the area, supporting a boost to the local economy.
Celebrating horticultural excellence in cities, towns and villages right across Northern Ireland, the Translink Ulster in Bloom competition is coordinated by the Northern Ireland local Government Association (NILGA).
