PLEASE NOTE:

  • Users are asked not to wear sandals or open toed shoes to recycling centres. Please wear appropriate footwear at all times.
  • Children must remain in vehicles at all times and be under the supervision of a responsible adult.
  • All waste must be sorted before visiting the site
  • The number of vehicles on site at any one time may be restricted
  • It is anticipated that there will be high volumes of vehicles at centres, and therefore there may be queues
  • If users are bringing bulkier items to centres, 2 people may leave the vehicle, staff on site will be unable to assist with lifting
  • Users are asked to observe site rules at all times
  • Users are asked to sort waste before coming to centres, this will help to reduce waiting times
  • No abuse to staff will be tolerated
  • Users are asked to continue to use household kerbside collections for recyclables, organics and general waste.

  • Cans (food & drink, including biscuit/sweet tins)
  • Cardboard boxes (flattened)
  • CDs
  • Cooking oil
  • Dense (hard) plastic
  • Electrical goods (Games consoles/monitors/radios/TVs/hairdryers/irons)
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Garden waste (leaves/hedge trimmings/grass/weeds/flowers)
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Metals
  • Mobile phones
  • Oil and oil filters
  • Paint – please read the label on the paint tin to check if the paint is high VOC, medium VOC or low VOC. High/medium VOC paint only (accepted at Fairgreen Portadown, Keady, Markethill, New Line Lurgan, Scarva Road Banbridge, Station Road Armagh, Tandragee)
  • Paper (newspapers/magazines/catalogues/envelopes)
  • Plastic bottles (shampoo, detergent, fizzy drinks, milk)
  • Printer cartridges
  • Prescription Glasses (including reading, children’s and sunglasses)
  • Textiles (used/unwanted)
  • TVs and computer monitors
  • White goods (cookers, washing machines)
  • Fridges and Freezers (remove all food waste).
    We do not accept fridges and freezers larger than an American style fridge freezer.
  • Wood (clean)

Please note:

This list is not exhaustive, please phone Environmental Services on 0330 056 1020 to check about other materials before bringing them to the site.

We cannot accept plasterboard, asbestos, gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, chemicals, commercial fridges/freezers, low VOC paint or trade paint at the sites. Tyres are not accepted at Recycling Centres, however, small amounts of domestic tyres can be accepted at Banbridge Recycling Centre.

All waste must be sorted for recycling and we are unable to accept wheelie bins at any of the sites.

  • Residents of the borough can use the recycling centres for donating waste for reuse, recycling, and disposal of waste.
